The Importance of Hiring a Licensed and Insured Plumber

Don't Cut Corners in Your Place of Living!

A Plumbing repair can indeed be one of the costlier household repairs. Service to a water heater, toilet, or one of the many faucets in a residence can easily set you back north of $500. While it is not the greatest of feelings to foot out an unexpected plumbing bill, it is very important to make sure you hire a licensed and insured plumber.

When a licensed and insured master plumber is on the job, you can know that they have passed the rigorous requirements of the State of New Jersey Master Plumbing exam. Also, this plumber has worked 8,000 hours in the field under the supervision of a master plumber. That is the equivalent of 4 years of labor! A master plumber knows every current and updated plumbing codes and can also pull the appropriate permits needed for complex plumbing jobs. This is especially important if you want to sell or rent your house, for most potential buyer/renters will want to know that a large job was properly done, for which a permit can prove.

While it is tempting to hire an unlicensed plumber, or a “handyman” who told you they could do the job, the potential risks far outweigh the reward. Because this person is not licensed or insured, it is the homeowner who will be responsible for all costs needed to bring the issue back to code. A $500 job can easily cost 5 times that amount, or more.

How do you know if someone is licensed and insured? A plumber/ plumbing company will display the license on their work truck, company website, and sometimes invoices. You can also search for licensed plumbers in your area on google.

Voros Plumbing has been licensed and insured since 1969. In 2022, Ryan Voros will receive his master plumbers license, making him the 3rd generation of a Voros family member to hold licensure.
